Marina Lifestyle: ìlúbìrin The New Community on Lagos Island Envisioned by Foreshore Projects Limited (IFPC)

March 2020

ìlúbìrin, the new waterside community under construction on Lagos Island will offer a superlative public environment with cultural, entertainment and sports facilities providing an unrivalled marina lifestyle.

Entering the development from the north, visitors will find themselves in an area overlooking the shimmering waters of the lagoon, the Third Mainland Bridge glinting silently in the distance. A harbor designed for 50 small and medium-sized craft – including water taxis and launch jetties for lagoon commuting – adjoins a yacht club which offers sailing enthusiasts access to technical facilities as well as lounges, bars and cultivated places to relax.

Just off the marina, a boutique hotel will form a hospitality hub for the community – an intimate lobby will serve as the perfect place to schedule a business meeting, recline with the daily news headlines, or sip early evening drinks. Meanwhile, the property itself will draw discerning travelers keen to sample the best in marina lifestyle. A short walk away there is huge potential for Lagos’ cultural scene – an outdoor amphitheater as well a major events stage engineered to save space on the island by floating in the lagoon.

The marina district is overlooked by an iconic new multi-use building. Designed by SAOTA international architects and ECAD Design Architects Ltd, the ìlúbìrin Tower will be visible from most areas of the development and represent one of ìlúbìrin’s most famous landmarks. Lagos is a city designed for the automobile and so a multistory car park in the building will reduce traffic in the community by encouraging visitors to easily and safely dispense with their transport and explore on foot. Meanwhile, facilities within the structure will establish ìlúbìrin Tower as a key draw for residents and visitors alike. Inside is a capacious events and entertainment space, perfect for functions, performances, parties and fund-raising events. The building is focused around community and wellness also: a rooftop soccer pitch affords the opportunity for exhibition and social matches and a sports centre will enable residents to build endurance with cardio sessions or limber up with yoga classes.

The building houses an aparthotel with suites featuring luxuriant furnishings and curated European design pieces. This is the most convenient and luxurious way for visitors to sample a taste of ìlúbìrin’s marina lifestyle – the water a short walk away from the building’s front desk.
